In this talk I will present the derivation of a Vlasov-Fokker-Planck equation which involves asymmetrical interactions to model a cloud of electrons in a synchrotron particle accelerator. We will study the existence and uniqueness of mild solutions as well as the long-time asymptotics. In particular we will prove uniqueness of a steady states in the low beam current regime and present some results of bifurcation for higher beam current. This talk is based on joint work with P. Gervais and M. Herda.
