I will give an introduction on Mapping Class Groups, starting with the definition of surface and the mapping class group of a compact, connected, orientable surface. And I will give some examples, as the torus, the sphere, and the annulus. In groups theory the knowledge of the generators is important, in this case the generators of the Mapping Class Groups are the Dehn Twist. And finally we will see the relation between the Mapping Class Group and the Braid Group of a surface.
